Ingredients:
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked
  • 4 cups ripe sapodilla fruit, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

 INSTRUCTIONS




1) Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2) Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

3) In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced sapodilla fruit, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the fruit is evenly coated.

4) Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

5) Dot the top of the fruit mixture with pieces of unsalted butter.

6) Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

7) Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool before serving.
